Journal 17:
Brainstorm what you are passionate about (list). You will be writing an Op-Ed piece (3/4-1 p. single-spaced) and a letter to a stakeholder in this issue (same length) over the next two weeks. Your research should MOSTLY focus on data/statistics/studies, rather than articles about that data or study conducted. 

Journal 18 (HW): Find another Op-Ed on the NYTimes Opinion website. Evaluate if it is a claim of fact, value, or policy. List the author's persuasive techniques and stylistic choices. Look for fallacies. Figure out what techniques you can use for your own topic.

Be sure your turnitin.com account is accurate and up-to-date. Some are struggling with this. Ask for help if you need it.
