As we move from a neutral audience (op-ed essay) to a hostile audience (letter to a political figure/group) on the same topic, focus on how the tone and content changes first, then on formatting. We will deal with formal letter format AFTER we have a 2-3 paragraph draft that focuses on swaying a hostile reader. The 2-3 letter draft is due Wed/Thursday at the beginning of class. All three papers (op-ed, letters) will be submitted as one document at the end of this process.
