On MONDAY, 9-30

• Form groups of 3-4, get your journals and 2 copies of the article, “Green Cities” for each group.
• Read the article aloud in your groups and discuss the c/c techniques as you read. 
• In you journals,  write down examples (both a short quote and an explanation of technique) of the different ways the author uses comparison or contrast. 
• Don't write on the articles, this time. Please  return the class set of articles (the articles are also posted on the class blog, for student use).
• If there is time, do the same for the “Plastic Bags” article. Return all copies before the bell rings.

HW: Reflect on the different ways you have seen comparison and/or contrast used in the last week. Name the strategies you are most likely to use in this next paper and be prepared to discuss your answer(s) in class.
